Do you have what it takes to be our next Chick Certified featured artist?

Send us your profile and JPEGS of your art. In order to be “Chick Certified,” you need to have a fairly established body of work, some sort of Web site, or be willing to publish your email address. We are always looking for great artists to feature, so keep those inquiries coming!! Email us at submissions@thechicksguide.org with “Hey Chick’s Guide—Pimp my art!!” as the subject line.

How to submit your art

Thank you for checking us out! We’d love to see your art. Whether you are submitting your art for one of our contests, challenges, art calls or “just because,” please read and follow the guidelines below to submit your beautiful, creative and ingenious ideas! A listing of all of the art we are currently looking for is to your right, under "Call for Entries".

The Details: This stuff is important so please read carefully!

  1. Submit your artwork to THIS email address:

    (FYI: Live links lead to spam, so please forgive us this small inconvenience. Spam sucks.)

  2. In your email please include the following:
    • Your full name
    • Complete address, city, state, country
    • phone number you can be reached at
    • Your email address
    • A brief description of your art. Tell us about the inspiration behind it and how you created it. Draw our attention to any special techniques or details that makes it truly unique. And, yeah, we want to know about you…feel free to tell us what you like, what you dislike, topics and techniques you’re curious about, your art inspirations, interesting stories of how you got started, you know, whatevs.
    • A brief and generic supply list

  3. Attach your image(s) to the email. Please do not send more than 5 images at a time. Images must be no larger than 120K. Please use JPEG (.jpg) format with medium compression. (For example, a 72 dpi 4 x 6 photo saved with medium compression is approximately 100k. If your image is accepted we may request a high-resolution version later)

  4. Tell us WHY you are submitting your art--include submission details in the subject line. For example, if you are submitting art for a call or challenge, please list the call or challenge (for example: RE: Day of the Dead art call or RE: altar challenge). If you’re submitting your art just because you think it deserves to be recognized, entice us with a juicy headline.

For the new year, we’re looking for art projects that say, “Yo! I’m all about renewing my cool self this year. Here are some creative and symbolic craft projects to help me realize my goals.” As far as types of projects and mediums, we’re open, baby! Theme? Stuff that drives the soul to seek and be open to new, positive energies and paths. Think: Goodbye, past! HELLOOOOO, PRESENT! What areas of your life could use a some spirit (love, money, health, social) and what crafts will help divine it? Yes, there is a valuable prize for this contest...stay tuned!
