Groovation! No, that’s not really a word, but a former and much beloved co-worker coined that term (hi, Trixie!), and it definitely fits this project.

This psychedelic set was created by artist Julie Sweeney. “They remind me of a tie-dyed T-shirt,” she says. Totally!

The Chick’s Guide would jump at the chance to play dress-up with Belle McCluskey, also known as Boring Sidney.

Many an afternoon has been spent daydreaming of how transforming one of Belle’s hats could be…put one on and become Doris Day, Josephine Baker, Deborah Kerr, Lucile Ball or Eliza Doolittle.

“This line is the culmination of 14 years of honing my craft,” she says on her Etsy site, “experimenting with modern styles and materials, and just being in love with dressing heads.”

She began learning how to make fabulous hats while working in the theater. All of her hats are made by her own hands from vintage patterns she finds or creates herself.
